Dear Friends,

The critical success of CITY OF FIRE has surpassed all expectations. I’ve made a lot of new friends, and I am deeply grateful. From the UK to Germany, from Holland to Greece and Italy, from Bulgaria to Russia, translations of CITY OF FIRE are underway as far east as Japan.

My goal was to write an all-out thriller that would keep readers on the edge of their seats. To give the book depth and a degree of humor by casting the story with colorful characters who were often times outrageous. What I didn’t foresee was how much readers would love the protagonist, Lena Gamble. The cards were stacked against her from the very first page. Lena is young and inexperienced - a homicide detective in Los Angeles who gets thrown into the mother of all murder cases and battles her way through the evidence to save a young woman from the most horrible of fates.

By any measure this experience has been wonderful, and I’d like to thank everyone for helping me get the word out. For new readers, I hope that you have as much fun reading CITY OF FIRE as I did writing it. Lena will be back in THE LOST WITNESS this coming February.
