The Detective Matt Jones thriller series takes place in Los Angeles, California, and follows Matt Jones (30 years-old) during his first year as a homicide detective. Lena Gamble makes a brief appearance in Book 1 of the series, City of Echoes. In Book 2, The Love Killings, Matt assists the FBI in a serial murder case set in Philadelphia. Teddy Mack, the attorney featured in The Dead Room and celebrated for his role in the E.T. Killings, provides legal advice. Matt then returns to Los Angeles for The Girl Buried in the Woods and City of Stones. Book 5 in the series, I'm All Better Now, takes place one week after City of Stones, is set in Los Angeles and the Central Coast, and is coming October 12, 2026.
